  • Linguistic understanding and spoken by the applicant/owner of the item.
  • Mention if the work submitted is published or unpublished yet.
  • If the work is published by the author already, then provide the details like the year of publication, title, address, and place where it was published and the publisher.
  • The nationality, title, and place of any other person authorized to assign or license rights in copyright.
  • Power of attorney for the firm.
  • Six hard copies of work and three soft copies.

The process of copyright registration involves a variety of process which includes

  • Step 1. Filling the application form

The artistic items should be submitted in jpg or pdf format and music items in mp3 with clear audio.   • Step 2. Examination of the application form.

    After filling the copyright application, the form is sent to the examination department, ensuring the FORM XIV is duly filled without any errors. If the author or applicant failed the examination, the authorities sent a letter to complete the examination process to the applicant's residential address.

  • Step 3. Publication in the newspaper. (artistic only)

    Publication of the given copyright product in the newspaper to check any dispute or opposition on the following copyright. This process is majorly essential for the artistic copyright dues filed in form XIV. the purpose is to disclose the item being copyrighted and wait for any objection from the general public or opposition claim clients (artistic work only).

  • Step 4. Opposition (if any)

    Wait for any opposition to arrive on the copyright claimed by the applicant. If an objection is received, the registrar sends the letter to both parties, informing them about the further wait for the court hearings and final verdict. Any form of opposition in arts should be resolved with relevant proof verification and full resolution for no future disputes.

  • Step 5. Copyright registration

    Fill the required rest of the forms and submit the documents to finalize the copyright registration. After the approval of the registration, the office registrar sends an approval certificate of the copyright registration or the rejection letter to the applicant's communication address.
